The restored 1889 home, updated with modern conveniences, is located in the heart of Smithfield's quaint historic district ─ a tourist's and vacationer's delight. Specialty shops and restaurants, two museums, and the Visitors' Center on are the same street (Main St.). Just minutes away are public beaches, parks, trails, museums, and popular attractions in the Coastal Virginia (Hampton Roads/Tidewater area). In around an hour you can be at the “Colonial Triangle” of Jamestown, Yorktown, and Williamsburg ─ or the Virginia Beach ocean side. ♦ Amenities include: free off-street parking, central heating and air conditioning, free Wi-Fi (Internet broadcast), cable television, microwave and a refrigerator near guest rooms. ♦ Four distinctive upstairs guest rooms, three with private baths, have combinations of full and queen beds. There are 12 total guest beds. ♦ Family friendly: supervised children and minors are welcome. ♦ Non-commercial kitchen and laundry facilities on first floor. ♦ No bed and breakfast business will be conducted during your reserved rental time. Rates vary seasonally: around $1,500 per week for up to 8 people (including kids), and $3,000 per week up to 12 people (including kids).
CONFIRMATION: Reservation is not guaranteed as confirmed until the 25% non-refundable deposit is processed through a credit card account number placed on file and we acknowledge receipt of the HouseRental Agreement, applicable to all guests, from the Reservation Guarantor (person signing). This may be accomplished via email indicating acceptance of all terms until the signed “hard copy” paper is received by us through the mail.
DEPOSITS: 25% NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT for all nights held, to guarantee reservation dates.
$300 REFUNDABLE SECURITY DEPOSIT for damage to be refunded or applied toward any remaining balance if no damage is found by management upon exit inspection.
CANCELLATIONS: Cancellation at any time does not affect the 25% non-refundable deposit, unless official advisories are issued urging persons not to travel due to hazardous conditions. Early departure does not warrant any refund of rent.
INCLUSIVE FEES: Rates include a one-time linen, cleaning supplies, and toiletries setup.
PAYMENT UPON ARRIVAL: Full payment less the 25% advance deposit for reservations of three days up to two weeks is due upon arrival, before receipt of keys.
RENTER RESPONSIBILITY: The person guaranteeing the reservation should be of legal age to enter into contracts, is responsible for timely payment, accepts responsibility for any damages incurred during the time period by his party and guests, and understands that rooms and property amenities are licensed as hotel lodging governed by town, county, and state laws, ordinances, and regulations.
GUEST INFORMATION: Primary contact persons will register the names and ages of every guest who will be staying on site. Information for vehicles to be parked on the property is necessary for security reasons.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY OF 12 TOTAL, ADULTS and CHILDREN: There is adequate sleeping space for 12 individuals on the six beds in house; therefore, no inflatable beds or sleeping on sofas are allowed, nor may campers may be parked on the property for the purpose of extra sleeping capacity.
SPECIAL EVENT/GATHERING with additional guests: A signed Event Agreement must accompany the House Rental Agreement for a party or involved gathering with additional guests. It is strictly forbidden to use this Historic District home as a party house with loud noise and excess “drinking” (i. e. alcohol consumption). This gives the owner the right to immediately suspend the renters' stay and forfeit remaining rents.
EXIT INSPECTION: The rental party will review a check list with the manager prior to vacating the house. The entire building is inspected before and after every rental group, so damage is closely monitored.
FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS: Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in.
